Paws and Claws Boarding and Daycare is a great solution to your busy day or vacation needs. If you are in need of boarding or daycare, look no further! Nadine's love for all animals will make your pet feel right at home and like one of the family. They may not want to leave! (Oops, sorry!)  We are looking forward to meeting you and your lovely pet. Nadine was born in The Netherlands and came to Canada in her early 30'S. Her love for dogs started as soon as she was born as her parents had a Neapolitan Mastiff Black Lab Cross (Lobos) and, for both dog and baby, it was love at first sight. Lobos never left Nadine’s side and they were best of friends for over 13 years. At 8-years-old, Nadine got herself a volunteer job at the rescue shelter where every day after school she would go and walk the dogs. She loved it so much that she spent more time there than at home! She became so fascinated by dog behavior—in particular the more dominant and lost dogs— that she later began her studies on dog behavior at NCOI in the Netherlands. She began working with aggressive dogs in rehabilitating them and also worked with working dogs (police dogs) and studied Wolf behaviour. 

After completing her studies, she took some time off to think about what direction she wanted to go with dogs. While she was off, she began helping family and friends with boarding their dogs at her property. Soon it turned into something bigger and that was when the boarding and daycare dream came alive and she realized she had found her calling.  For seven years she was living the doggy boarding/daycare dream, until city development ended the lease with only six months to either relocate or close their doors. "Unfortunately, in The Netherlands, housing exists as 90% rentals, so there was nothing we could do. We were heartbroken." Nadine remarks sadly. 

Nadine then decided to follow another dream and booked a flight to Canada where she has worked for eight years as a manager at an animal shelter and rehabilitation kennel. While she loved it, it didn’t give her the same feeling as when she owned her own boarding/daycare facility. There was something beautiful about meeting the owners and their fur babies, especially when they arrive happy and leave just as happy.  Being exactly what she was put on this earth for, Nadine couldn't wait to start it again with Paws and Claws.
